Privacy Policy
Noteday ("we", "us") is a note-taking app for iPad. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. We built Noteday to be offline-first: your notes live on your device.
1. Your notes stay on your device
Your notebooks, handwriting, drawings, PDFs, text, stickers, templates, and voice recordings are stored locally on your device. We do not upload or read your note content. (When optional iCloud sync is enabled in a future update, your notes sync privately through your own iCloud account — we still never see them.)
2. No account required
Noteday v1 does not require you to create an account or sign in. Your Pro subscription is tied to your Apple ID.
3. Data we (or our providers) process
Purchases — When you subscribe to Noteday Pro or buy content, the purchase is handled by Apple and managed via RevenueCat (subscription status only). We never receive your payment details.
Analytics — We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (e.g. which features are used, app opens) to improve the app. This may include a device identifier and general usage/diagnostic data.
Ads (free tier only) — The free tier shows ads via Google AdMob. With your permission (App Tracking Transparency), ads may be personalized; if you decline, you still see non-personalized ads. Noteday Pro removes all ads.
AI features — AI is optional.
- Bring-your-own key: if you add your own Anthropic (Claude) API key, it is stored only in your device's Keychain and used to send the text you choose to Anthropic directly. We never receive your key or that content.
- Hosted AI (future): if you use Noteday's own AI credits, the text you submit is sent to our processing service and a model provider solely to generate the result; it is not used to train models or stored beyond what's needed to serve your request.
Microphone — If you record voice memos, recordings are captured with your permission and stored locally on your device.
4. Tracking
We ask for tracking permission (ATT) only to support personalized advertising on the free tier. You can decline, and you can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking.
5. Third-party services
Apple (payments, iCloud), Google (Firebase Analytics, AdMob), RevenueCat (subscription management), and — only if you use AI — Anthropic and/or our AI provider. Each has its own privacy policy.
6. Children
Noteday is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Data retention & your rights
Note content stays on your device until you delete it. For analytics/ads data held by our providers, you can limit collection via ATT and iOS privacy settings. To ask a question or make a request, contact us below.
